It has the shakes, which is how it rests and rests cutting oval shells of borders with jagged smooth turns. It is an oyster leaving pearl.

They are a prism of endless shimmering color. If you sit with them they burn and blister. They are bony with hope, muscular with grief possession.

Their coherence is incoherence, provocations of scars and knives and paradise, of tumbling wooden rivers and liquid hills.

Rebecca Morris (b. 1969, Honolulu) lives and works in Los Angeles. Selected solo exhibitions include the Blaffer Art Museum, Houston; Bonnefantenmuseum, Maastricht; the Renaissance Society, Chicago; Bortolami, New York and Barbara Weiss, Berlin. Her work was also included in Made in L.A., Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2016) and the Whitney Biennial, New York (2014.) She will open a major survey exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in October 2022.

Daniele Milvio (b. 1988, Genoa) lives and works between Milan and Ansedonia. Selected solo exhibitions include Fondazione Morra Greco, Naples; Weiss Falk, Basel; Federico Vavassori, Milan; Supportico Lopez, Berlin and Downs & Ross, New York.
